Presidents Day 2009 Invitations In the Mail

Teddy, George, & Abe at Capitol
Consistent with Society goals, invitations to prospective Society members were mailed earlier this week. A hearty “welcome” to our new members.
There are several new and exciting aspects to our Presidents Day 2009 festivities. One of these is a planned visit to the Colorado State Capitol. While it’s still up in the air, we can’t imagine a group of politicians not recognizing the significance of this holiday or a group of patriots such as ourselves.
A less popular feature this year was the passing of an annual dues and tarriff. To avoid scuffles and fisticuffs at the numerous public houses we Presidents visit, each member will be paying a flat fee upfront. This will allow for quick and hasty payment as we leave each tavern by newly elected treasurer Teddy Roosevelt. We’ve found nothing more embarrassing than a group of men who can’t seem to pay the bill when their faces are on the cash.
Furthermore, the more philanthropic of us (we’re looking at you FDR), have suggested any surplus in the treasurery should be donated to a worthy charity.
In closing, we’re excited Presidents Day is only a month away and looking forward to increasing our membership and thereby our message in 2009.
Regards,
George
