The Presidents Day Society Announces Schedule for 2010 Celebration of Presidents Day

Denver, CO, February 12, 2010 - In anticipation of its 4th annual Presidents Day celebration, The Presidents Day Society posted its planned schedule of events and toasts via their website, www.PresidentsDaySociety.org.

Founded in 2007, The Presidents Day Society is the nation’s first and only society dedicated to reminding the public, through costumed portrayal on Presidents Day, about the men who have led our nation from its inception to modern times. The Presidents Day Society has steadily increased its membership and plans to portray 14 U.S. Presidents in 2010. While reflecting on their founding goal to portray all 44 presidents, Society members stated they were “thrilled” to be representing more than a quarter of the presidents to hold the office only 4 years after the society’s founding.

In an effort to encourage the public to remember and acknowledge Presidents Day, the Society will begin toasting our nation’s founders at 9:00 AM at Sam’s No. 3 on 15th Street. They will then make their “Presidential Walk of Honor” up 16th Street towards the State Capitol, stopping for a pint or two on the way. Afterwards, they plan to pursue several games of bowling to the delight of area parents and children. The Society will end the afternoon by making numerous stops at local public houses on Colfax Avenue where the citizens of Denver are encouraged to join them in a toast to our great nation and its Commanders in Chief.
